Adult With Child swimming lessons at Bangor Aurora Aquatic & Leisure Complex are a great way to introduce your little ones to the water, from babies right up to children that are starting school. These lessons follow Swim England’s fun-filled Discovery Duckling programme, making each session playful and engaging.
Pre-School swimming lessons are for children aged 3 & 4 years old. These swimming lessons with the use of games and songs start children's independent journey to a lifelong love of water. Class sizes are a maximum of 1 teacher to 6 children.
Help your child learn a valuable life skill by enrolling on our swimming lessons. Watch their confidence soar as they develop a love for the water. Each of our lessons include a variety of skills including core aquatics skills, water safety and stroke development. Our children's swimming lessons are for all school age children.
Prices for Swimming Lessons start from £32.50 for monthly direct debit payments.
Our teenage swimming lessons are aimed at secondary school aged participants. These lessons follow the same scheme as our children's programme but in classes and pool space more comfortable for the swimmers.
Water safety is a vital life skill, and an essential part of the primary PE curriculum. We support pupils to build confidence in the water and learn how to stay safe, including how to perform self-rescue in a range of water-based situations. It’s about giving every child the skills they need to feel capable, confident and secure around water.

It’s never too late to start swimming, or to get more from the time you spend in the water. Our adult swimming lessons are designed for everyone, from complete beginners to more experienced swimmers looking to refine their technique. Open to anyone aged 16 and over, there’s no upper age limit - just a warm welcome and support every step of the way. We understand that adults learn differently, with their own goals, motivations and pace. That’s why our sessions are built around clear, achievable targets, helping you grow in confidence, improve your skills and feel comfortable in the water.
Our disability specific swimming lessons are for those swimmers with SEND who find a mainstream swimming lesson too challenging. These lessons use adapted and modified teaching practices to support and meet a participant’s individual needs and goals in a safe and inclusive environment.
We use pool platforms in our lessons to create a safer, more supportive learning environment for children. They help build confidence in deeper water, offer a safe place to rest, and make it easier for swimmers to transition from shallow to deep areas. Platforms also help children focus on their technique while staying visible and grouped for better supervision.
